Where can I find lynx for suse linux enterprise 10? All I can find is lynx for openSuse.

For SLED/SLES 11, use packages built for OpenSuSE 11.1:
I found lynx while searching http://software.opensuse.org/search .
SLED/SLES is built from OpenSuSE.
Just install the one you found; it'll work.
Lynx is a text-based web browser.

I don't know the particulars of where Redhat or Suse load stuff into memory, but it could be that suse is mapping some library to an address in the middle heap (like permgen).

For QT....
On Suse the required compiler GCC and all its dependencies should already be present, so MinGW is unneccessary there.

The documentation is confusing because it states....
I was missing the -v parameter for FTP.
You need to redirect stderr AFTER stdout, as in:
ftp -n servername > ftplog.log 2>&1
NOT
ftp -n servername 2>&1 > ftplog.log [wrong!]
It is working now .
