Hi all,
a few month ago, I passed the SCJP - the Sun Certified Java Programmer.
I intended to do the SCWCD now, but there's this Sun Certification Plus-thing going on... so I don't know if it's worth learning for the SCWCD any more. Does anybody know ...

EDIT: While I appreciate the comments about the SCJP exam, I am asking about the SCJD , which is administered in a very different fashion from the SCJP...

I want to do the Spring Framework Certification (2.5), but there aren't many good resources to prepare for the exam. For the Sun certifications there are a lot of books and trainers (Enthuware / Whizlabs) but not for the Spring certification....

Consultancies like the Sun Certified Programmer qualification - this is the most basic and no certification, as the certification is then just book knowledge.

I would recommend the Sun Java Programmer Certification as the basic starting point and then I would go for the Spring certification.

I work in an environment where the microsoft certifications are quite highly regarded - and I'm studying for some of them. I do a lot of non-microsoft javascript/ajax work and this is got me thinking about what are the alternative options if you are not...

The only solid exams that are available today for aspiring developers are the Sun/Oracle exams and the Microsoft exams, however J2EE is ancient and Microsoft is well... Microsoft. I think many modern dynamic languages today are more relevant...

Its like a certification exam for playing there is http://www.zend.com/services/certification/ I haven't taken this test, but I did get a study book PHP companies.
This makes it harder to establish a certification exam.

The certifications themselves - at least those I've looked into (Sun Java, Zend PHP, LPI Linux SA that is prohibitively expensive (often a few thousand $).
