It did not materialized because McG hated flying to Australia(where the studio planned the film ....
By the way, McG and JJ Abrams chose Henry Cavill as their Superman in that aborted Superman Fly By project.

Just wondering, instead of waiting several years between Superman movies, why don't they just make a Superman tv series. Maybe on a channel like HBO, or Showtime, where they can just do 12, or 13 episodes a year. That way they could put a lot of money...

I think the other issue with a Superman series....
Of the film-Superman development hell during the '90s and they didn't want to let the property die out to a full-fledged Superman would just be too high for a television show.
