Some C++ compilers permit unnamed unions and structs as an extension to standard C++. It's a bit of syntactic sugar that's occasionally very helpful.
What's the rationale that prevents this from being part of the standard? Is there a technical roadblock...

I feel that union activity would benefit if there was a section on the main boards (http://uk.gamespot.com/forums/index.html) list for unions that users have joined, it would make unions easier to navigate to. Unions would be automatically added to this...
