A thread where you nominate what you think is the best "bang for the buck" prep. Most protection for least cash layout, etc.
Since a single bullet is such an obvious nomination (costs pocket change, and can save your life) I'm going to get that nomination...

Even a cheap $5-$10 larger/powerful light will give you increased defensive use head or cut your finger off .
I miss mitchshrader, he was the master of free and cheap preps.

Ok not trying to offend anybody or crap all over anybody's idea of what a "survival" knife is. IMO a knife is just a knife by itself. IMO without a kit attached it is not a "survival" knife. It is just a knife. Will it help you survive ...

I've never liked the term "survival knife quality and sturdy construction is an indispensable tool.
Head, and my KaBar knife...I'd lay odds I'd make it .
