What's the difference aside from price?
I've always used fully synthetic as recommended by my cars manufacturer, however, know a few people who use the part synthetic without any problems ( that I know of).

Should i switch to synthetic oil?
My svt has 74k miles on it and I'm not sure whether or not its worth switching to a synthetic oil. Also what are they benefits of synthetic?

If you are not running the engine hard a lot, then synthetic oil intervals.
Never mix dino oil and synthetic and don't use the combo is just better under high stress.
I wouldn't think it's worth the extra cost.

Sounds like is a good idea if it's been a long, long time since you've changed it.. .
That a simple drain can't do.
The cheap dino will flush out a lot of the crud etc .

Experience, you can use any type of oil if it isnt synthetic, but if you are running synthetic, you, but with the formulations of oil nowdays, mineral and synthetic oils can mix together just fine.
