Not with rope, you don't want rope wrapped up with the rope....
The benefits from MILSPEC requirements are priceless! Tie the rope to a really big friend to have a buddy spot you right and left to get the wraps lined up nice.

Thinking of switching over to synthetic winch rope. Here is my question, do I really need to convert from a roller fair lead to a different style?
What would be the reason for converting?

I've looked for a few articles here on cleaning synthetic rope. Haven't found a posted thread that directly talks about cleaning.

Thanks...

I was able to open....
Of course, a climbing rope is often 200, 500, or more feet long so finding a suitable container is more hose stream.
A friend built something much like this years ago to ease cleaning .
ropes are also synthetic.

I'm leaning toward installing a synthetic rope winch on my van. How do the synthetic ropes deal with living in a wet environment? I live in the Pacific North West where things tend to get wet and stay wet for a while. Which is better for this climate?...

For joining onto rope eyes a rounded recovery point, shackle or hook, go-enforced eyes.
