any input on where to get a good deal?
might need a new fairhead too my winch came with cable so its kinda chewed up

I'm not sure what you mean by "done". It's really hard to damage wire rope. Sometimes you can see some bends in the stuff, especially if you don't preload it when you first wind it on, and then do some angled pulls at close range so the stuff loads one...

My 610 mule has a wire cable, thinking about replacing it with a amsteel 3/16 SYNTHETIC WINCH ROPE.
I needed it yesterday and the wire cable would not freewheel, tangled. Three of us pushed it on the trailer.

OF4WD 5982 & 5983 There are a bunch of us that use the synthetic stuff and won't go back.
Just make sure it won't be around sharp objects and you'll love it .
Rope is the way to go.
