My 8V has had a gradual tapping noise on start up gradually worsening to actually driving the car. After roughly 10 minutes of driving the tapping seems to go away or a quick rev up to 4K will do the same, (though I tend to avoid this in case I'm damaging...

Mine does it too and obviously drains the header tank over a number of weeks .
The tapping will be a hydraulic tappet in the valvetrain inside the cylinder head.

It's because of where your hand is, your tapping hand is coming over the top of the fretboard so, assuming that you are not moving your whole hand to tap.

There is an option there to turn off iPod controls .

I don't believe there is a default time-limit - it's whatever "feels" right... .
On windows (and I'd guess most other systems) this is a system settings so you should look for an API that returns this .

Whenever I double-tap the Control ( Ctrl ) or Command ( ⌘ ) keys, the current window is minimised into the dock. Annoying as it's pretty easy to trigger this completely undesired behaviour.

I have a Morse 7/8-14 spiral flute bottoming tap running 1 in deep in 6061. Problem is that the chips make a terrible birdnest around the tap. I'm rigid tapping at 1000 RPM.
