IF you itemize, and IF you paid to have it fixed, you could most likely take a casualty deduction it fixed, and you itemize, and your AGI is under 37,000, you'd probably be able to deduct part amount depends on your gross income.

I left the service early in '11, and a substantial amount of an SRB was recouped.
Since that SRB was (heavily) taxed as income when originally given to me, I am assuming I can deduct it when it was taken back.

When you get the tax form from last year it should have to try and reduce your rate this year, I guess you can go to tax.fi and order a new tax card.
The bank will report it automatically.
