I tried calling the IRS to ask them directly, but the wait time on the phone is too great.
As a self employed person, I basically just need to understand exactly what I owe in income tax and self employment tax. Please let me know if I've got this right...

My first inclination is to say yes, since it's essentially a corporation's SSN which I would encrypt. However, I'm not sure whether SOX or and Federal guidelines actually require it to be encrypted. Anyone know for sure?
