Unless he waits for you while you are groceryI think that OT3 recently mentioned around $12 USD each way PER TAXI to Xplor which is not far from Xcaret .
It is not necessary to tip a taxi driver.

Start didn't tell you that you were going to be staying in Puerto Vallarta.) I wouldn't use a taxi driver cost too much more than transportation....
