That was my thought too, its a coolant temp sensor, but car questioned why it....
The non-supercharged 1.8 engines have a combined temp temperature sensor.
A temperature sensor combined with the MAF.

If you dip the temp sensor in a hot coffee then you do get a true indication of....
The coffee routine truely works.
The sensor and guage are working! I got replaced.
Just tried dipping the temp sensor in a cup of coffee.

My scanner shows the intake air temp sensor reading temp coolant.goes up and down with exact coolant temp.my scanner doesn't show coolant temp for some reason .it only has iat,no coolant temp.if I unplug the iat it still reads temp around 185 with fans...

This diagram is very hard to read but it shows that the MAP,CPS,IAT and ECT and one other sensor splice at the IAT is causing issues and should be restored to OEM, (Tan only) and the Engine coolant temp negatve probe on batt - and positive....

No its not the maf...its....
Have you the maf unplugged.
Its the external temp sensor...its on the frontthink the temperature sensor is in the maf sensor.
Lol 45 has the temp sensor inside the MAF sensor.

Will a Mitsubishi OEM oil temp gauge receive/recognise/register any signal from an R Spec oil temp sensor fitted to an R Spec sump plug or nothing at all?

Nobody What swap harness are you running? There is also a coolant temp sensor (white) on the side for an answer There should be a wire on the conversion harness that you need to run to the temp sensor for your guage to work....

There is one for the transmissionnot even sure it exists.. .
There's a Tranny Temp Sensor No oil temperature sensor for the engine.
