You can also buy tofu at CX Oriental which has now moved at the traffic lights at the Woodies....
I usually shop in Here's Health at Douglas Court and they nearly always have tofu there.
Hiya,
You can get tofu in some of the health shops.

Anyone in the UK got access to a reliable source of tempeh starter? I've done a bit of googling and failed so far.
Can't be arsed to make my own tofu, there doesn't seem to be a great cost-saving in it on a small scale, but I can't get tempeh locally ...

I'm planning a cookout sort of party, and have several vegetarians attending. In addition to things like oil and vinegar potato salad and grilled vegetables (onions, peppers, eggplant, zucchini etc) I was thinking of grilling firm tofu. Any advice on ...

Also, if you freeze it for awhile.
If tofu, extra firm is good and doesn't fall apart.
I like tofu, or better yet tempeh, marinated in sesame oil, tamari, ginger and garlic if I am going to grill it.

So I am a vegetarian ( that eats fish, so really a pescatarian) but I don't like tofu and I don't like meals that take longer than 5 minuets to prepare. I have been falling under my protein intake most days and I always have to much sugar. Does anyone...

You can find seitan at many health food stores, but it's definitely tempeh recipe that I found a little bit ago and I've ate it pretty much every day for the past week: http://veganprairiefood.wordpress.com....
I use tempeh and seitan a lot.

I don't think anyone ever said we needed them. They're tasty, so I eat them. I also don't need cola or potato chips, but they often find their way past my lips.

Well products like tofu, tempeh, and seitan have existed.
I just think of them as another food product.

Vegan / Vegetarian Eating SO & I are considering a slow move toward eating less meat & animal based protein after watching the move Forks Over Knives. The move had some strong supporting evidence for some of the conclusions and less for others but we ...

It will ease teh excess carb loading and will cut down on the quantity of vegetable... .
I encourage the veggie community to consume more monounsaturated fats such as olive oil and medium chain fatty acids such as coconut oil or palm oil and even a straight MCT .

Eating at Subway I was wondering if anyone has ever asked for the fillings without the bread, and if so did they actually do it?
They actually have vegetarian steak (full of fat) at ours so if I can get it without the bread I'll be a high-fat vegan low...

I know that vegans are going to be the minority in these parts, and I am not vegan myself, but I just got a new cookbook called Veganomicon, and it has some great sounding recipes in it. Last night I made spicy tempeh nori rolls, and Bakemaster made a...

I made a pretty good....
Crumbled tofu with salt works suprisingly well in the place of cheese to dig up some recipes.
C balance won't work.
Was very tasty.
Chili-sesame oil itself, and broke the tempeh up and steamed it to make it mashable.
