How useful is an oil temperature gauge? I'm pretty good about adequately warming up my stock 2012 WRX before I drive it. If it's the first time I've started the car today, I let it idle for at least 5 minutes and then on the road I don't rev above 3k ...

Do you have plans to modify the car or will it remain pretty much stock? When the OE coolant gauge is "warmed up", my oil temperature is still 140-160°.
I like my oil temperature gauge.

The dash temperature gauge doesn't normally control the fans unless you have piggybacked the Spa gauge off the back of the EUC temperature sensor in the lower water rail, next to where the bulb for the mechanical gauge....

Car is a 1996 850R, standard. On the motorway, the temperature gauge will sit roughly at 4pm (if that makes sense) however once in town/stationary it'll rise to nearer 2pm. I'm assuming the needle should sit around the 3pm mark, ie halfway on the gauge...

I'm wondering if the stock temperature gauge can be hooked up to the GM coolant temp sensor for use with megasquirt? How can I find out if the two temp senders have similar ranges? Does anyone have info on what the stock temp sender's resistance range...

You and i have very similar plans! Back to top Why? my Gm temp gauge is for MS only, i wouldnt want to tap to it to run a gauge to, may mess up the reading, just reuse the stock gauge, i run the Gm and a mechanical gauge in....

Can anyone help me "de-bug" a problem with my fuel and temperature gauges. The lighting for both gauges and the tach and speedometer is working fine. The speedometer and tachometer register correctly. But in the past few days, the fuel gauge and temperature...

If gauge.
The sender is on the thermostat housing, there are two not sure which one does the gauge though.
Test by unplugging it and see if the gauge moves.
Chances are that the sender is faulty.
2009 CX-9 Temperature Gauge Reading Where should the temperature gauge on my 2009 CX-9 be reading? It seems to rest right in the middle...is this normal? Thanks!

If it goes beyond middle....
It usually takes a few minutes to get to the middle from "cold" .
This is normal for most vehicles I know (in case you're curious - it is about 193F coolant temp) .
Middle is where the needle should be when the engine is warmed up .
