The IMS tensioner should have a external preload....
The 2 that have rings have matching rings on the case next to the tensioner threads as you can see in your top photo.
Sounds like they are labeled correctly & you have the last 2 reversed .

Just did a timing belt job, got it timed right, but I dont think its tensioned right..seems to loose, heres a vid.

E39 540i anyone know how much tension to apply to the serpentine belt. i've been losening and tightening back and forth not knowing were is the correct tension to leave it at. any help would be great thanks.
