Reviewing other lyrics is an important part of learning about writing. When you can see what works and doesn't work in other lyrics, you can apply it to your lyrics. And we are here to learn, aren't we ?

Was having a discussion with a friend, that he and I both don't comprehend/ignore lyrics in songs. Lyrics is just an extra layer of music to us. In fact, the act of trying to listen to lyrics causes us to lose the music.

No particular reason.
Anybody who feels they have some lyrics in them, get them up and we'll mash it all up together.
Other people can make the beats and someone absurdly brave or stupid enough can rap the whole thing on Youtube...
