I talked to Hal from AustinDiggers today at Starr and he said all creek/river hunting of artifacts is now illegal in Texas. I knew it's illegal to collect from state/federal waterways but Hal says now illegal in all waterways. Includes sand/gravel bars...

Just sayin'!! I'm always FOSSIL hunting!! I just never find fossils...? I can find and can be patrolled by boat (which most Texas rivers and creeks can't).

I get all warm and fuzzy looking at hunting pictures that include our not.
That in Texas, we used to hog hunt on horseback because they could go places the ATVs could that no motorized vehicle will do.

I can't imagine it's unlawful to hunt from a "vehicle".
vehicle"? Regulations in Texas allow hunting from a vehicle on privately owned land.

Headed to Texas I'm headed to Houston and never had a chance to check into the laws. I know open carry and a pistol in your car is legal in Louisiana but am I ok in Texas with my gun in my truck.

You can have a handgun in your vehicle, home in vehicle, make sure its hidden, such as glove box or between seats or something.
Carry of handguns in public is mostly illegal in Texas.
