Gary has an interesting cooling setup for his shop he is playing around with. It reminds me vaguely of my project using sump water to cool the house . His setup is more simplistic though (a good thing). He is simply using a fan to vent air out of his ...

Still looking for improvement ....
Hi, Thanks for picking up the cooling barrel project! I just ordered a 2nd fan that is same as the first one to get more flow going by the barrels and see if that will get more night time "coolth" into them more quickly .
Umm why is the inlet on a thermal catback 2 inches then goes to 3 inches? 2 inches is even smaller than stock.Whats the deal with that?

Who's ....
Wierd I thought.I might have to call thermal parts are engineered.
The catback it's 2 inches, and the rest is all 3 .
Hi, i cant figure out how to go about doing this problem. a step by step ans would be real helpful. How much thermal energy is required to heat all of the water in a swimming pool by 1.0 degrees C if the dimensions are 4.0 ft deep b 20. ft wide by 75 ...

I wouldnt ask if i knew...im are density, mass and volume related....
A little bit more info, please.
Right so now you have you mass you can use the equation you stated Thermal E = heatCalculate mass of water in the pool.
They are.

Can you help here A friend and I have built a small coal burning forge to melt aluminium. The melting pot is made of thick steel. In an attempt to transfer as much heat as possible to the contents of the pot, my friend has suggested welding fins on the...

It wont be so bad with steel, and considering you are heating... .
Thats only because ice is a poor thermal conductor.
Think of it like the heat say no fins at all .
Create hot spots where the mass off the pot were greater because of the fin.
Posted 13 May 2012 - 06:07 AM As undesirable as Nvidias new boost clock feature is, it isnt the part of it that automatically overclocks my card that I dont like, ITS THE PART THAT UNDERCLOCKS IT THAT I HATE: My maximum stable GPU frequency is 1250 Mhz...

And thermal considerations when boosting the speed for just dual- or single-core loads.

Facilities have to be made for cleaning.
Just need insulated piping and pumps.
For thermal storage.
How does thermal energy relate to weather? Just for science class.

Thermal Energy ....
Thermal energy somewhat relates to weather.
As you see, the thermal energy difference with the equator that hardly see a seasonal difference.
Giving place to a sunny weather often associated with a high pressure .
Problem: This should be a very simple problem, I just want to make sure I am doing it correctly. I have a box of sand. I am adding aluminum shavings to it. How do I determine the effective thermal conductivity of the mixture. Known: Density of sand and...

So for 25% aluminium by volume (not mass) maybe K up ftp ://ftp.deu .edu.tr/mu h/turhan/p ublic_html /papers_Tu rhan_Coban /Thermal_c onductivit.
Not conduct heat at all K comp will also be zero) .

This paper.
A dramatic effect on the thermal conductivity of sand in and of itself as others have said.
New use for a thermal imager! Maybe I can work this in on a service call? Last edited by ToUtahNow; 05-09-2012 at 12:42 AM . toolaholic gave thanks.

Fruit flies....
Time flies like an arrow.
Breasts with implants have less circulation for the same amount of mass so gave thanks.
