Well, it has been a few years since I last travelled to a programmers conference. Back then, the power brick for my laptop was as heavy as the whole laptop is nowadays. So, the laptop was about the only thing I took with me into the conference.

Another thread had me thinking about this. What odd things do you pack for vacation? We all do the typical stuff - clothes, toiletries, sometimes laundry stuff - but what do you pack that you or anyone else could consider odd?

If ya'll haven't figured it out, I'm OCD about planning. I've actually had FB friends tell me I'm taking the fun out of it because of all the planning. But, that's how I am. I need to know I've covered all my bases before I can relax and enjoy things....

I'm in the market for a new pack for backcountry hunts and have been doing a lot of looking around on various sites. What do I gain by getting a pack built for hunting vs a pack built for hiking/backpacking? There are a bunch of nice looking hiking packs...

Jason The REI XT85 is nice pack, but like said it is not going to carry a 100-load will carry weight much better than you typical "hunting" pack.
