Can I put a Thunderbird profile in a separate data partition and use that as a profile in ALL multi-boot drives using the same Thunderbird version? (So I can add to the mailboxes and view them...

I usually backed up my Thunderbird data with MozBackup ( http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com Settings > Local directory....
You may be able to just send for Thunderbird .
Thunderbird stores mail in mbox format, which is pretty universal.

You'll probably have duplicated mail folders.
I don't know if they're hidden or what.

I want to completely restrict access to TBird. I know about the master Password but this does not go far enough. Unauthorised people can still read my old mail.
What are the options to have stronger security? Any add-ons?

It seems that Thunderbird 9 was released without solving a lot of bugs that are important to me. The search function is bad and the embedded pictures issue is critical to me and so far not solved on this forum.

Since some days, my gmail account i installed in thunderbird 10.0 doesn't let me send emails with attachments.
I get a message saying delivery failed for unknown error. Outlook express (with same settings) is working normally instead, so it's not a problem...
