How long do you plan on using a crib? When do you feel is the right time to move your LOs to a toddler bed?

With my first two they were each moved to a toddler bed at 18 months because another baby to a toddler bed around age 2 unless he tries to climb out before then.

I have a toddler who we switched into a toddler bed and she has gone from waking up at 8amish (about 12 hrs of sleep) to waking up at 530am and crawling into bed with us. Is this common during this phase of transition? thank you!

So when DS moved to a bed for crib, he quickly learned how to open the door and walk out.
Just a personal choice for us....but we do not let the kids sleep in our bed.

I just thought it was easier to just skip the toddler bed step i didn't understand the need for it.
She was 2.5.
I moved DD to a full size bed from crib, i skipped the whole toddler bed thing.

DD will be 18 months old when LO is born. Would that be too early to put her in a toddler bed or do I need another crib? When is the normal transition time?

I'd go with your gut - if you think dc might be ok with it maybe just transition to a toddler bed.
Our pediatrician said 36 inches tall, 3 years.
She's nowhere near ready for a toddler bed.

When did you switch your LOs to a toddler bed? How did you know they were ready? My son is 19 months but was 2 1/2 months preemie so idk if he is ready or not and he is my first so I do not have other children to base him on. will love all advice.

Other than locking your kid in a room wth can you do to get them to actually go to bed, sit in the bed, just freakin stay in the room & stop playing around, etc??? it is not a case of 'he no longer needs a nap' because he takes a 1 1/2-2 hr nap at daycare...

How about a baby gate? Also, IMHO I would pick them up and put them back to bed 100+ times back to bed 100+ times if that's what it took for them to lie down and nap, eventually he will get chair or bed before he decides to lay down....

Yeah....
If you when I switched him to a big boy bed (we skipped a toddler bed and went straight to a full, he's so ladies.
Personally, I think it's too soon, but that's just me .
As for the toddler bed...
