I am building a small rails app and I need a way to generate tracking numbers to give to customers to check up on their status. I want something similar to what the major shipping companies use, but not as long. Im thinking 12-16 characters long is fine...

In Visual Studio 2005, is there an easy way to automatically increment the assembly/file build numbers after a successful build?
Emphasis on easy . I would like to track my build version, without having to set up CruiseControl or some similar tool.

For small seller like me, you can grab the tracking slips from the Post Office and when you sell an item, upload tracking number right away bitches say your items....
Not adding the tracking number within the allotted time.

Canada Post tracking numbers do not update...what to do? i have recently been selling stuff on ebay and while most people seem to have received their items, one person claims to have not received it (they live in england if it matters) and they opened...

Unfortunately I did not get the information from the sprint.com/myorder/ site. I received it from ups.com (since they always have the latest tracking information).
Note: I pre-ordered from Sprint.com and not a third party vendor such as Best Buy, Target...
