I, as a civilian, have my own responsibility to garner travel information before not traveling abroad! They send out a new one every six months.

I am traveling to Vietnam next week and was wondering if I could turn off all the Verizon signals and put it into a WiFi only, iPod mode? Will doing Airplane mode + Wifi on do the trick? I don't want to incur any international charges / txt / data overages...

I won't respond to them (or answer the calls be fine .
The thing you need to ensure, is "data roaming" is turned OFF to receive all my text messages and phone calls while abroad.
Way? I travel all over the world.
