I was just wondering this really, but do you get any help with travelling expenses if your uni or placement are quite far away? Or are you expected to cover this in your bursary?

None of my cohort was just checking.
For us, if your placement is further than uni then you can claim travel expenses.

Just turn up but it means that we can just grab a taxi with our hand luggage and the driver doesn't know that we're for the short stay car park which I think....
We have never paid for our seats and we have always managed to get seats together .

Obviously won't appeal to everyone, but still useful for many. The Citylink Gold is a 'steal' if you can get a ticket for that. They give you free tea and biscuits on longer journeys.
