I'd suggest that you find out details associated with Olympics and Paralympics in London July to Sept 2012 - that will have an impact on housing, hospitality work etc.
If you can't find suitable housing / work, don't panic - here are other places in UK...

It means no nipping back to the hotel for a shower or to drop date selected in mid December) versus nearer £120 for something in Central London.
