Last week I found out I was pregnant and I went to my doctor and got a refferal to an OB/GYN (I am on tricare prime). Tricare denyed it and said I had to go to a Military Hospital. My husband is stationed in San Diego, Ca and my choices are Balboa, NTC...

The hospital stay is $15 per day with a minimum charge of $25, I was there for 3 days which was $50 after tax Well since you are Prime already my suggestion that will except tricare ....
It may have changed recently though.

One of my friends had that you are having.
Go to your primary care physician and tell them the problem and TriCare will need a letter from them saying it is causing medical concerns, that is who TriCare will cover it.

I just started with my RE about a month ago. I am wanting to get the genetic disease screening done but only if Tricare covers it. The financial counselor at my RE office says that I can go to any lab that Tricare has authorized and get the testing done...

I did get a bill in the mail and then called them and informed them I had Tricare -- and....
From my recent, personal experience being on Prime, I had to have a referral from my PCM the paperwork to go to a lab that Tricare authorized.

I'm tricare also, and as far as I know they cover a licensed delivery doctor, not sure love tricare for maternity stuff so far, they've covered everything! Yeah, they cover a lot.

They will generally get enough referral.
As far as I know, TriCare Prime won't coverWith Prime, the PCM has to refer you to the OB.
After I made my appointment to get the referral going .

I filed.
My insurance didn't cover anything at all.
I'm sure that works if you have standard, but not with prime.
Also did say she was going to just bill Tricare for an ultrasound, not the termination.

To those who are also insured with Tricare when did you get your first u/s? Does Tricare have some specific guideline about when it is performed, or do they just leave it up to the doctor you're referred to?

I have Tricare PrimeTricare supposedly only pays for ONE u/s (and that would be your anatomy scan at 20ish weeks pregnancy and have never been billed.
On post) know how to code the u/s the correct way so that you won't get billed .
