In 2001 the national debt was $5.8 trillion, we are now over $15 trillion and will be over $16 trillion by the end of this budget cycle which where above $20.

The article does not say there will be trillion dollar deficits through 2017, it says that such....
Oh also, title is misleading.

Obama doesn't care about the deficit and he is too afraid to lead for real reform(which in a deep downturn, even though doing so worsens the deficit in the short run.
