I recently made trip to Bryce Canyon and Zion NP with the D7000. I had some some very nice light and Bryce is such a great photo location. All shot with the Nikkor 16-85, tripod mounted, remote shutter release and VR off.

I read that the observing condition at Bryce Canyon National Park is exceptional, and the Night Sky Program there is outstanding. I am planning a trip to the park, and was wondering if personal observing is allowed there. I would love to join the crowd...
