We will be in Rome in July this year. We have one day free and would like to take a day trip outside Rome. Could someone suggest a short trip that would not take our whole day in Travel? Thanks much

No specifics in Rome, but if you go to Florence, there's a place over the river called Mama Gina's, they tend to be way over priced.

Personally speaking I'd make Pisa a day trip from Florence rather than vice versa - there's far more to see and do in Florence than in Pisa.
On the other hand you are on your honeymoon so perhaps you'll find something to occupy yourselves in Pisa ;-)

Definitely make Pisa your day trip.
I second Stevegerms suggestion about Pisa !
You really should NOT attempt Florence as a day trip! It's too interesting and beautiful for only part of a day.
