Protestants have no history worth speaking of.
And you're absolutely right about the Christian graffiti.
It was fascinating.

Hi guys. How long do you actually get in Rome on a day trip when the ship docks in Citavechia? Any suggestions for passengers who don't want to do the long bus journey - anything more local? B

The length of stay when the coach or trip arrives in Rome is entirely down to what time the ships place and quite laid back.

You're not talking about needing to move hotels more than once (and it would be possible to day-trip to Pompeii, although it makes for a long day).
What a treat for your granddaughter!
This would be a very easy trip to do on your own.

We are a group of 7 (including four teenagers) planning our first trip to Italy. We would like to go to Rome, Venice, and Florence/Tuscany area.
We have 13 days to travel. Thought of going to Venice for three days, Rome for three days, and then to Tuscany...

Would you omit Florence/Tuscany from your trip and focus more on Capri....
A trip over to Capri is a must see in my book.
But with 13 days of travel, you cannot see Venice, Tuscany, Rome destinations.
To Pompei from the Amalfi coast.

Hotel.
Its a beautiful place.
There are some great walks around the town with fabulous views over Rome.
And do in Rome itself, I always recommend that visitors take a trip out to Frascati for an hour.
