is it better if they are long discriptive titles or short and simple?

Keep in mind that items that come up in search early, those that are relevant to the search, have the searched words in the titles and tags.

You'd need some heuristics there, of course.
That is, in your example, two files like
trash..thash..song_name_mp3.mp3 and garbage..spotch..song_name_mp3.mp3
would end up looking the same .
It sounds like what you want may be a longest substring match .
