I've actually been looking into this recently and was very curious. I was wondering if anyone here has experimented with NOT putting a truss rod in their build? It seems these days its almost unheard of... Truss Rod vs No Truss Rod Necks - Billy Penn'...

So you might be cutting 3/8" at the nut, 5/8 rods) the slot is cut square and the channel is the same from the nut to the end of the truss rod slot..

I'm not an expert in this kind of thing, but I am able to adjust the relief on most of my basses except my CIJ fender P. In order to get to the truss rod I need to remove the neck. How is this usually done? Do I take off the strings and remove it completely...

It's much easier to just adjust the truss rod while the strings are tuned to pitch to the truss rod.
This can process.
I also have a fender bass that requires removing the neck to adjust the truss rod.

No HornetAny standard Schwinn blade fork will work with truss rods.

Had the neck on my Nash off like 10 times, trying to deal with an issue. Didn't seem like a hassle to me - and I AM lazy! The nut at the heel is definitely not a deal-killer for me at all.
I wound up at the luthier and he was really pushing the body rout...

However the truss rod wouldn't budge I could loosen it but I couldn't tighten it, and I don't want Fender Jazz....
I loosened the strings, but didn't take it apart comleteley, just enough to have easy access to the truss rod.

I didn't it just deep enough that....
I found that if I took the extra truss rod I had cut off it made the perfect pilot.
