You could get a cheap chinese tube mic, then just modify it later.
It isn't a tube mic, but if you couple it with a pre that has a tube stage, you can get all and plug-ins, and a partridge in a pear tree.

I suggest you to try out some ribbons (like the coles or the AEA) or the Violet Design Globe Vintage, or Brauner Phantera, if you want a tube mic check out but I like the TLM67....
And sometimes it's not forcely a tube mic..

I have an Avalon 737 and was contemplating getting a tube mic (UM17R). Would that be too much warmth? Would the two tubes saturate the sound? I currently have a mouse. Also contemplating the stage one bottle rocket with B6/B7/B8 caps. thanks in advance...

First of all, this might be a ridiculous idea. I'm not sure. And that's why I'm asking.
At the moment I'm setting up my home studio. Just got an SM7b for my vocals. Unfortunately I don't have the money right now for a big fancy RNP mic preamp or anything...
