I am going for a tube amp, and I have a question regarding tubes.
What is the differences between amps that have tubes in the preamp, tubes in the power...

Tube testers that do not read a tubes transconductance, but merely give is....
Tubes are measured for Gm on most good tube testers, which also test tubes for shorts, gas, and grid to be considered a good tube.

I am using an 85mm 1.8 with extension tubes. These were quick shots to try them out. I sat the penny on a piece of paper and the lighting is just my living room incandescent. I used a tripod also. What do you think? What could be done better/tips for ...

Help - Lens will not focus with extension tubes. I own the Tokina 100mm f/2.8 macro lens. I got a set of Kenko extension tubes for Christmas thinking that when combined with my Tokina lens I could get that much closer to the subject.

I've never used extension tubes and probably never will unless I'm wrong in believing subjects therefore if the extension tubes have a very narrow range of focus I would be SOL for many it ability to focus...

Recently i got manual extension tubes from my sony camera but when i attach them and try to click it says 'no lens attached'.
Am i missing something?

If the latter, check for dirt/oxidation....
I bought the tubes for extreme macro shots, soDid you get the tubes with just the mechanical attachment? Or do they have electrical contacts.
The camera must be on a tripod for this method .
