I had a bash at re-furbing the electrostatic tweeter in my Bush SRP 31D this afternoon. I melted the plastic rivets, took the thing apart, burnished the contacts and reassembled ... but with no luck. I had three attempts and it's fair to say...

Thinking about installing the Subaru subwoofer and tweeters. Does anyone here have them? I don't need earth shattering bass, I just want to fill out the flat factory radio. Thanks for your help.

The sub is the tricky one to install, its requires running wires from the factory stereo to under for both and the install is not going....
The grills and there is a harness already there, no need to run wires, just a plug and a few screws.

Has anyone ever considered using this as a low cost dipole tweeter? The efficiency is low @ 78db but if it was an active system that would not be an issue. Cross it around 1.5K to 2K?

I installed a RF component system the other day and now I'm getting a higher pitched whining noise from the tweeters on both sides. It's only audible at higher volumes. I tried turning down the levels for each speaker down as low as they go in my h/u ...

The speaker wire isn't pinched anywhere plus I ran completely new wire for the amp....
Are the crossovers? Are you sure the speaker wires aren't pinched anywhere? The components have an internal crossover built into the 6.5" speaker.
