You might try stuffing blankets....
It works well.
We prop their heads up with folded baby blankets.
Early on I stacked blankets under their heads and then rolledOurs are both around 7 pounds.

I am wondering what the size of your babies were when you went home from the hospital? I know it all depends on when they were born, but am trying to decide if I should get car seats starting at 4 or 5 lbs. I prefer the 5 lb ones because they are cheaper...
