I think delivery confirmation was free with ebay users when using their service. Delivery confirmation sucks with USPS but it's nice to have in certain situations.

USPS is slipping.
Just a plain hard fact.
Amen on the UPS option.
Require confirmation or signature delivery unless the item is bigger dollars in which case I would insist on insurance as well.
