For drivers, your best if Ubuntu can't figure it out, is to check ubuntuforums.com and/or go on irssi server irc.freenode.net and room #ubuntu Through normal applications, wine software works on Ubuntu....
Look into freshmeat.com.

Then, as stated above, the "missing" driver was reinstalled over the network.
Modprobe wl
to force the kernel to load the old driver, since it was there all along.

Hello everybody,
I would like to execute a bash script after a TUN driver (e.g. tun0) is up under ubuntu 9.04/9.10. I need it to use the assigned VPN IP in some configuration scripts. Do you have any suggestion?

You can try the --up switch (on command ....
The script cmd is passed a whole lot of environment variables that tell it what is going on, and anything you might want to do is covered by those .
Look in the manual page for the --up cmd configuration entry .

I am wondering if I upgrade from Ubuntu 9.04 to Ubuntu 9.10 on my laptop (a dell inspiron 1545) using broadcom wireless drivers; will my wireless break?
When I side along installed Ubuntu 9.10 last time, the wireless didn't work.

I'd recommend working on your along-side installation....
Given that your wireless didn't work on Ubuntu 9.10 out of the box, I expect you'll have similar the older working wireless driver), but that might cause problems with other aspects of 9.10.

I want to install the printer OKI C810 on my Ubuntu (it's the one we've got in the office), but there are no Linux drivers for this particular model.
Is it in any way possible to use Windows drivers to set up the printer on Ubuntu?
