Discussions about unexpected downtime

Unexpected Downtime Last night the servers ran out of free space due to an overflow of backups (better than a shortage!), corrupting the virtual machine state files. We had ~6 hours of downtime as a result. Unfortunately, I was forced to restore a backup from around 12 hours... Short downtime (7 Dec 2011) The reason for the period of unexpected downtime for the last 15/20 min was a firewall error. Should be resolved now. The server wasn't actually down, it just wouldn't let anyone visit.
