Hi,
I have the SP3 network install file, installing over a pristine original Windows XP installation.
When I run the SP3 install, it spends aeons estimating space for uninstallation and whatnot. I don't care about this and I just wanna get done with it...

The SP3 install has a command line switch for /nobackup and it will not save any uninstall info where your xp sp3 distro is living.

programs in your control panel? It normally works quite well....
For SP3 and IE7, but XP is updated with SP3
and IE7, so I need to uninstall both service pack.

Under the "uninstall" tab-
For some large number of apps it shows today's date (or some random more current date) as the install date though the real install dates should be something else (months or years ago!).
