As i know Ja Anion has support J.1.7, so you can upgrade your site from Joomla 1.5, I'm also thinking about upgrading my site from 1.5 to 2.5.

Just tried upgrading 2 sites from Joomla 1.7.3 to the new Joomla 2.5
