In my application I detect the out going call when a call is dialled from the dialer or contacts.
This works fine and I then pop up a dialog saying I have detected the call and then the user presses a button to close the dialog which calls finish() on...

Anyone have experience with iboomerang. They have a power dialer and I'd like to know if it compares with other dialers mentioned on the forum. Haven't used one yet but am looking.

Offer to pay a nominal fee to this out-of-work person even if it is merely a finders fee to get the name of the software... .
Your better bet: Look for a collection agency manager who is presently out of work, but has experience with "XX" software and Vicidial .
