For apple crisp as well, the worst was Royal Gala apples the seem soft but when cooking them for 30 Apples the man at the apple farm near my place told me to use Cortland they sell all kinds, but he their name....

To the regular red delicious and screw the organic stuff (its a totally different "brand" of apples we seem to have an abundance of different brands here...Gala, Macintosh, Braeburn....among others is not measured by the breaths we take....

You can use....

I am about to go to the grocery store to pick up sweet potatoes, peas and apples. The only apple we have at home is honeycrisp and I am thinking that might be too sweet of an apple to make some baby food out of. So what kind of apple is best?

I used the Pink Lady apples.
I think you can use pretty much any kind; although, Granny Smiths might be a bit tart.
I've used Gala.
They're a little tart, but still pretty sweet.
We did mcintosh.
Looking to make a one gallon batch Of apple mead, looking to use 3.5 - 4 lbs honey (local in pasteurized) one cinnamon stick (McCormic about 2 gram) and topping off with fresh juiced apples. Is this too much cinnamon? Is acid like lemon juice etc needed...
