When opening a new monitor I am amazed that the VGA cable is always attached. Even with new high end monitors that include Display Port and DVI cables the old VGA cable is always attached while the others are just left in the box.

I wonder if it has something to do with the fact the older monitors came with a built-in VGA cable gotten used to VGA, because it was (and still is) used on older monitors, quite a lot of modern LCD it's easier to hot-swap VGA than....

For sale JS Tech RGB Scart to VGA box.
This box does a great job of converting RGB scart to VGA and gave great results on my Panasonic PH9.
The picture quality was much better than using a scart board in the Panasonic panel.

This is the expected behavior of the Switchable Graphics architecture .
Have a look at your power settings
DVI and DisplayPort digital graphics output ports are not supported in "Energy Savings" mode .
