Here is a pic of the Peugeot distributor setup which is a straight fit on the VW 1.8 and 2.0 16v engines.

I would venture a guess that they are both as reliable as the other why both the VW and Audi....
As for the VW 1.8T and Audi 1.8T.
As a previous owner of a 1.8T GTI:
First off, the Jetta 1.8T does not cost half as much as a GTI.

I'm thinking of trying this Pento HP II 5w-40 for my 06 VW GTI MKV FSI, a turbo direct injection 2.0 engine.
I can get it for around $37 for a 5 liter jug.
Please advise.

Right looking for a Mk4 gti but not sure which model to buy we have been looking at the 2.0 litre and the 1.8 Turbo but unsure which is best. I'm sure every one has there own opinion but which is best on miles per gallon and which will be the best engine...

The 2.0 mk4 GTI is to put it politely, a bag of w@nk! Whoever deemed that an asthmatic 2.0 8v with only 115 bhp, in a car weighing as much as a mk4 does, should wear a GTI badge, should have been the 2.0, with a grand I'd be looking for ....

I think the A3 just felt superior.
The GTI has always been one of those cars I'd like to own.
Not as fast as a gti, but pretty torquey all the same throttle tip in from a stop).
Is that they are both available as tdi's (diesel).

Looking at picking up a 2006-9 vw gti 4 door. I think I'd actually prefer the DSG. They seem to be had in the 14-17k range?
Anything year/issue specific to be aware of? They seem to be generally reliable cars... :shrugs:

The engines are two different development tracks for VW and both have their advantages one for general....
