If it has a weak spring it....
Only way to realy tell is try on boost.
Vacuum wins and opens the dv.
It will flutter as the boost tries to force it open, off boost dv opens with vacuum acting against the spring trying to keep it shut.

Any ideas?
When pulling out with a minimal of pedal I can hear a flutter coming from what sounds like the center of the car. Could be inside (ventilation system) or top rear of the engine (vacumn hoses or air intake). If I increase the pedal it goes away...

It seems to "flutter" between the RPM range of 1000 to 2500rpm or so under light throttle....
Pulling out with a minimal of pedal I can hear a flutter coming from what sounds like the center starts happening after about 1-2 minutes after driving.

1997 Volvo 850R, only engine mods are an open air filter, silicon intercooler hoses, and a manual boost controller that I set at about 13.5 psi max. Mileage is about 120,000, and the air temp is around 50F.

OEM Bov/turbo's fluttering now? I haven't done any mod's to the turbo system and just today I started to hear fluttering when I release the gas under boost. Any ideals? Is this normal?

If you still hear the noise and and you checked the vacuum.

Could.
Do you have a scanner? I would probably run some vacuum tests since you removed the AIR system.

Hey all, I have a Weber DFVE. I need to step down the vacuum port nipple to fit the vacuum line running to my new SVDA. Are these nipples pressed in? I plan on making up a new one at work tomorrow and wanted to know if my assumption is correct.

I'm going to make a heavy wire eyelet that will be attached to the air filter housing to hold the vacuum.
That would be adding two additional components to the system, seems un-v-dub .
Of vacuum tube.

The BOV kinda works, it was mostly turbo flutter the vacuum.
To the 'vacuum' line under the throttle body.

I posted about this problem a while back and was told it might be the ISC. But then found out it sounds like more of a vacuum leak somewhere. The car dies after being under some boost. Unless I tap the gas a little before that happens. Here is a video...

If you suspect a vacuum leak or something like that than or a couple really bad leaks. When you go into boost, does it flutter and go rich then die? Visually check all vacuum lines....
It test's everything from the turbo to the engine.

Hi,
I would like to know where the check valve located in 1983 300SD. I'm trying to figure out why I'm not getting enough pressure by the transmission, so need to check and see if this valve works and how do I do so?
Thanks.

There are also check valves inside the vacuum pump that you can get dealing with the vacuum....
I checked the vacuum pump and there was good suction (checked with my, a bit lower the higher you are.
Thumbnails thanks for this information.
