Cheesecake pudding instead of vanilla pudding in a cake? Someone said to add pudding to a box cake mix to make it more moist...ok so im making a vanilla cake and was going to add vanilla pudding but i only have a cheesecake pudding. Will that taste weird...

I made vanilla pudding from scratch? However I don't think I cooked it quite long enough. It's just not getting thick enough. Has anyone re-cooked an egg based pudding/custard after you let it cool to thicken it up? I just don't want it to curdle.

All you can do is learn from this experience, and cook your mixture a bit longer next time .
Once the eggs are cooked, they won't change, other than getting overcooked, and becoming lumpy .
Why not add a roux? You can't recook an egg based custard .

Just followed one of the recipes for protein powder pudding on bb.com (mixed no-fat milk with jello (chocolate) and protein powder. It is very good. But wondering when you girls eat this stuff as a snack or post-workout?
