But I do them outside again in the Spring.
My veggie garden is mostly cleared out, bare ground.
That many of you live in warm areas where winter may not actually put an end to raising garden temps of daytime highs of 40F or so.
In this day of supermarkets it seems very few New Zealanders have a vegetable garden. Why grow it yourself when you can get it from the supermarket? I'm a Geek but I still grow lots of vegetables at home in a composted garden - just like my parents did...

We do plant a garden before we had kids ....
It is difficult to find the time to look after the garden year round.
We have a garden, have been growing veges for years now, really easy to grow spuds, pumpkin spead on the garden.

I bought good soil but havent been adding nutrients to it, and it is an average garden at best Support! Not sure if hardwood mulch is good....
I know.
Of topsoil, soil conditioner, compost (last year I used mushroom compost) and garden soil.

My "beds" are 4' X and into the garden....
I have found that it's much easier to garden using raised beds.
I've done BIG in-ground gardening and I'm now doing raised beds.
And I don't care to purchase garden soil just to walk on it).
We are expanding ours quite a bit this year. So far, I am planning: peas beans 6 tomato plants (3 cherry, 3 regular) brussel sprouts lettuce & mesculan mixes carrots kale cucumbers zucchini patty pan squash onions potatoes turnip radishes edamame I think...
