Well it's me again asking more daft questions...
I recently managed to pick up a SS Serpa holster MOLLE attachment after a fairly long search (thanks striker ) but now i can't get the bloody thing attached to the vest.
It seems really difficult to get...

Yes, you hooks strapped in well.
You have it, it is really time consuming, most of the time the molle straps on the vest are not of the same size.
It works really well and is easy to do.
I use styrene strips to mount a Serpa to a vest.

I have 4 mags total - just like my tac vest he created....
It is nice in that it is not as confining as a tactical vest, and also not nearly as hot.
I've been promising the Vest Guy for a long time to take some more pics of this item.

I'm looking for a vest/load out that works with G3 mags that can also accept a holster. Prefer load bearing vest type but open to anything. Recommendations? I'm a total gear noob. My primary is a g3 sas so hanging it from the vest is a requirement

There are not many vests specifically set up for .308 mags so just get something MOLLE you ....
The exception(s) to that are hard molded pouched like the FAST mags etc .
Most anything that will work for M14 or SR25 magazines will fit G3 mags nicely .

mag/clip pouches go opposite your trigger straps cross over and clip into the side by the kidneys.

Plenty of pockets, and a built-in holster that accommodates a Colt .45.
An oldie but a goodie: I used a WW II USAF survival vest.
