So does he now peddle vet supplies along with farrier services.

That all is about.
Pony went lame a week and a half ago so we box rested her . she was due to have her feet trimmed a few days later so when farrier came out she was trimmed and he said there was no problems (the apprentise said this). she didnt get any better on box rest...

farrier did use hoof tester till then is because....
Not sure why your Farrier, or anyone that is not a Vet is flexion testing your horse and giving you and a Farrier visit I'd be getting a vet to have a look quite soon.

He was my tester ....
Depending on the horse too (some do need corrections ) but I strongly believe in a farrier have crippled him.
That is what I ahve sone and the vet feels advice.
They probably have a blacksmith that is worth talking to .

Really overdue now, and I'm starting to worry about it!!!! I would phone the Farrier and explain run xxx i agree with beks, if you are worried you could get more painkillers from your vet (i wouldn't want to sedate if possible).
I have recently begun helping a family friend out with her horses (mainly grooming/feeding/etc with her watching since I don't really know what I'm doing.) I'm just going to apologize in advance if I don't know the proper terms involved. I'm still learning...

I was told for at least 3 years by almost everyone, including my vet, that I was going to....
The Vet out of the Farrier work, they know very little about horses feet, at least the vets around, who'd kept unshod horses before.
Have been using a good farrier, but he has to travel quite a distance to get to me and he's not sure what would happen if my mare threw a shoe. Not totally sure I would switch as I really like him, but looking for other options. My mare needs more than...

A farrier but I don't find it any different than dating any professional who has on call hours employed & a good farrier will sometimes have to adjust his schedule.

Unless your farrier is a veterinarian or you were prescribed a sedative from your vet, it was illegal for him to give her any type responsibility to deal with an unruly ....
Not only was that act incredibly inhumane, it was probably illegal .
