For reference, this would be for Visual Studio 2008 with a fair amount of WinForms working with the VS Designer.
Given the same price bracket, would there be certain specs you look for in a development rig vs what one would get for a gaming machine?

I've had atrociously bad luck with video cars over the years. Of my 2 current main machines, one has an ATI card that breaks under XP SP3 (rotating the monitor fails) and the other, an nvidia, give a BSOD on boot for the only drivers I can get to install...
